Audi 2.7T and 2.8 Timing Chain Tensioner Visual and Replacement

Below are two videos outlining the issues with Audi A4 A6 and A8 timing chain tensioners. The chain tensioners are very similar when comparing the 1.8, 2.7T, 2.8 and 4.2. When you begin to hear a groaning or clicking noise from the top of the aluminum valve cover, it is a sign one of the tensioners is going. Typically when one tensioner is having issues, the other tensioner is not far behind. One video explains what causes the noise and the other points out where each tensioner is located. Please comment below if you have any questions!

  1. I’m impressed, I have to say. Really hardly ever do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me inform you. you might have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the problem is something that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I am very joyful that I stumbled across this in my seek for something referring to this.
